Bio

Markus Hunt is an educator, writer, speaker, and consultant. He received his B.A. in Classics from Howard University and earned a Master of Education in School Leadership from Harvard University. He is currently the head of school at The Logan School for Creative Learning, a leader in gifted education for more than thirty years. At Logan, Markus hosts educators from national and international schools seeking expertise on child-centered curriculum design. As an emerging voice in education, Markus has been a consultant to Teach for America, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. As a speaker, Markus has presented at Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG) conferences, National Association of Independent Schools, and the Progressive Education Network. Markus is passionate about equity and social justice, especially as it relates to children in education. He began his career in education as a Latin teacher in both independent and public urban schools. Markus’ training and experience in the cognitive and social-emotional lives of children, along with his experience as a professional musician, inspires his exploration of the ways that a creative and child-centered approach to education will transform society.
